A gamaguchi pouch carrying Pooh and Piglet, from Disney Store Japan's 100 Years of Winnie the Pooh collection. Gamaguchi — literally "toad's mouth" — is the Japanese kiss-lock clasp purse, a form that's been in everyday use since the Meiji era. The metal frame snaps open wide and shut with a click, so the whole contents are visible at once rather than fished for.

It's a distinctly Japanese object to find in a Winnie the Pooh collection, and that's what makes it interesting: a century-old British storybook character rendered in a traditional Japanese purse format, released for the book's centenary. Pieces like this are the reason collectors seek out Disney Store Japan specifically — the design vocabulary simply doesn't appear in Disney merchandise elsewhere.

LEALEA MART buys through official Disney retail channels and ships from Japan as a Japan-registered company — authentic licensed merchandise, original tags intact, tracked delivery worldwide.
