Peter Pan Urupochacha & Pinocchio stanDs: Disney Store Japan’s October 2026 Plush Drops Explained

Peter Pan Urupochacha & Pinocchio stanDs: Disney Store Japan’s October 2026 Plush Drops Explained

Disney Store Japan has announced two plush collections that take fans straight back to the golden age of Disney animation. The Urupochachan (うるぽちゃちゃん) series is welcoming the cast of Peter Pan, while the Disney stanDs series is adding the friends from Pinocchio. Both are Japan-exclusive, and both are the kind of release that collectors outside Japan usually only hear about after it’s sold out.

Here’s everything we know, what makes each series different, and how to get them shipped internationally.

What Is Urupochachan (うるぽちゃちゃん)?

Urupochacha is one of Disney Store Japan’s most-loved plush lines. The name comes from two Japanese words: uru-uru (うるうる), describing big, shiny, watery eyes, and pochatto (ぽちゃっと), meaning plump and round. Put them together and you get the series’ whole personality: a soft, chubby little body and enormous glistening eyes that make every character look like it is about to tell you something important.

The series launched in 2023 and has since run through dozens of seasonal themes, including sakura, strawberry, rain ponchos, honey bees, and New Year’s designs. Each wave sells quickly, and older waves are rarely restocked.

The Peter Pan Urupochachan Lineup

This is a full ten-character lineup covering nearly everyone from the 1953 film: Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, John, Michael, Michael’s teddy bear, Nana, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and Tick-Tock the Crocodile.

That character list is unusually generous. Most plush series stop at the hero and one or two sidekicks, so seeing John, Michael, and even Michael’s teddy bear included is a real treat for anyone who loves the Darling nursery scenes. Nana the Nanny dog and Mr. Smee also rarely get the plush treatment.

The designs carry a lot of small film-accurate details: Peter Pan’s feathered cap, Captain Hook’s hook, and Tick-Tock’s pocket watch are all worked into the plush. That last one is the detail that makes fans smile — the crocodile that swallowed the clock, finally soft enough to hug.

The whole collection is scheduled to arrive at Disney Store Japan from October 20, 2026.

Who Should Collect Which?

  • Peter Pan and Tinker Bell — the obvious centrepiece pair, and the two most likely to sell out first.
  • Wendy, John, and Michael (plus the teddy bear) — display them together and you have the whole Darling family in one row.
  • Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and Tick-Tock — a ready-made villain trio. Hook with his hook, Smee with his glasses, and the crocodile chasing them both.
  • Nana — the gentle St. Bernard nursemaid, and a quiet favourite among longtime fans.

What Is Disney stanDs (ディズニースタンディーズ)?

Disney stanDs launched in July 2024 as a new plush series built around small size and a retro atmosphere. The appeal is the deformed, simplified faces and body shapes, the charming upright standing pose, and a muted colour palette that lets the plushies sit naturally as interior decor rather than looking like toys.

Each figure has a weighted base so the characters can stand on their own — which is where the name comes from, and why they look so good lined up along a shelf.

The series has already covered Mickey and Friends, Toy Story, and Peter Pan. It has proven popular enough that Disney Store in the US has begun importing selected waves from Japan.

The Pinocchio stanDs Lineup

Six characters are joining: Pinocchio, Geppetto, Figaro, Jiminy Cricket, Honest John, and Gideon.

The expressions are the highlight here — Pinocchio wears a bright smile, while Honest John and Gideon have sly, mischievous grins. That contrast is the real charm of the set. Display them in story order and you get the whole temptation scene in miniature: the wide-eyed puppet, the scheming fox and cat, and Jiminy Cricket trying to keep everyone honest.

Including Geppetto is notable too. The woodcarver almost never appears in plush form, so this may be the first chance many collectors get to own him. Figaro, meanwhile, already has a strong following of his own among Disney cat lovers in Japan.

The Pinocchio stanDs collection is scheduled for release in October 2026.

Urupochacha vs. Disney stanDs: Which Should You Choose?

Urupochachan Disney stanDs
Look Plump body, large watery eyes Slim upright figure, retro muted colours
Pose Sitting, huggable Standing, weighted base
Size Small, palm-friendly Roughly 15 cm tall
Best for Cuddling, carrying, photographing Shelf display, lining up a full cast
Vibe Sweet and emotional Vintage and decorative

If you want something soft to hold and take photos with, Urupochacha is the one. If you want a tidy row of characters that looks intentional on a bookshelf or desk, stanDs is the better fit. Many collectors end up buying both, because the two styles sit nicely side by side without clashing.

Why These Two Films, Right Now?

Both Pinocchio (1940) and Peter Pan (1953) belong to Disney’s classic animation era, and both have been having a quiet merchandising revival in Japan. Disney stanDs already released a Peter Pan wave in August 2025, which performed well enough to justify giving the film a second treatment in a different series.

Japanese Disney fans tend to be especially attached to supporting characters, and these two films are packed with them: Figaro, Gideon, Nana, Mr. Smee, Tick-Tock. Series like Urupochacha and stanDs exist precisely to give those characters their moment, which is why the lineups run so deep.

How to Buy Peter Pan Urupochachan and Pinocchio stanDs Outside Japan

Both collections are Disney Store Japan releases and are not sold at Disney Store locations in the US, UK, Europe, or Australia. Occasionally a Japanese stanDs wave is imported to the US Disney Store, but the selection is heavily cut down and the timing is unpredictable.

LEALEA MART is a Japan-registered company that buys directly from Disney Store Japan and ships worldwide. That means:

  • 100% authentic, officially licensed merchandise with Japanese product tags
  • The complete lineup, not a reduced international selection
  • No proxy service fees or complicated forwarding addresses
  • Direct international shipping to the US, UK, Europe, Australia, and beyond

Because Japanese plush series run in limited production batches and are rarely restocked, popular characters often disappear within days of release. Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, and Figaro are the ones most likely to go first.
