Important Update: Temporary Price Adjustment for Customers in the United States
Share
Dear customers in the United States,
Thank you, as always, for your wonderful support. We’re writing to share an update that affects U.S. orders, and we’d like to explain it as clearly and honestly as we can.
What has changed
Under new requirements from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), duties on postal shipments from Japan must now be declared and paid in advance, before the parcel leaves Japan. As of October 15, 2026, this applies to packages sent to the United States via Japan Post, and each shipment must be declared through an approved service. You can read Japan Post’s official announcement here:
Japan Post: Conditions for Mailing to the United States (Effective October 15, 2026)
What this means for you
To comply with these requirements, we will temporarily raise the price of every item by 25% for customers in the United States. This adjustment helps cover the duties we prepay on your behalf, the declaration fees, and the additional handling the new process requires. Customers in other countries are not affected.
What we’re doing next
We are also reviewing every product in our shop so that our listings and declarations better meet U.S. customs requirements. As the rules are still evolving and this review is ongoing, the adjustment may change in the future. We will announce any changes here as soon as we can.
We truly wish we could avoid this. It is a customs requirement rather than a choice we made, and we feel we have no option but to follow it. We’re sorry for the extra cost and inconvenience.
To all of our U.S. customers: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. We’d be grateful if you would keep an eye on our updates, and please contact us anytime if you have any questions.
With sincere thanks,
LEALEA MART
